My latest artwork depicts a type 4 (later class 52) diesel-hydraulic locomotive waiting at the old Birmingham Snow Hill station with a London, Paddington bound service in the early 1960s.
All Western class locomotives were given a two word name, the first word being ‘Western’ which is the reason the type became known as Westerns.
